Morado opal is a rare, vibrant purple and white variety of common opal discovered in central Mexico around 2011, characterized by its lack of play-of-color and inclusion of purple fluorite. Also known as purple opal, opal royale, grape opal, or violet flame opal, it is used primarily in polished cabochons for pendants.
