A Herkimer diamond is not a true diamond, but a highly transparent, brilliantly clear, and doubly-terminated quartz crystal found primarily in Herkimer County, New York, and surrounding areas. Formed over 500 million years ago in dolomite rock, these crystals are unique for their natural, 18-faceted, 6-sided, and double-pointed structure, often requiring no cutting or polishing.
These crystals range from 4 to 16mm and are strung on a base metal wire with base metal findings. The necklace is adjustable up to 18 inches.
