Grape agate is a trade name for a botryoidal (grape-like cluster) form of purple chalcedony. It was discovered around 2015. This gemstone is not a true agate, as it lacks banding, but rather forms as tiny, spherical crystal aggregates that often feature a sparkling druzy texture.
