Black opal is distinguished by a dark, gray-to-black body tone, which provides a dramatic contrast. This deep background acts like a canvas, making its vibrant internal flashes of color—such as red, blue, green, and gold—appear significantly more vivid than in lighter opals.
Natural black opals are very rare. All black opal at Calcifur's Crystals are heat treated white opals.
