Variscite is a rare, green phosphate mineral often used as a gemstone. It's a hydrated aluminum phosphate, typically found in crusts or nodules within other rocks. Variscite is known for its vibrant green color, which is due to trace amounts of chromium and vanadium. It's sometimes confused with turquoise, but generally has a more intense green hue.
