Flower Agate with Chlorite Quartz Sphere
Flower Agate with Chlorite Quartz Sphere
Chlorite Flower Agate is a rare stone that's a combination of chlorite quartz and flower agate. Flower agate is a mineral in the chalcedony family that looks like a flower garden, and is made of silicon dioxide, iron, and manganese. The iron oxide minerals in the quartz cause the agate to have concentric color banding in shades of pink, orange, or brown, with white inclusions that look like flowers. Chlorite is a group of minerals that are usually green, but can also be black, brown, orange, red, pink, purple, blue, yellow, grey, or white. Chlorite minerals have a 2:1 layer structure with an excess of negative charge that's balanced by a positively charged interlayer hydroxide sheet.
